Devon Rex

The Devon Rex is a lightly-built breed of domestic cat characteristically seen in a curly-to-wavy coat of most any hue. Lanky limbs, a slightly upturned nose, and a set of oversized, low-set ears provide this breed with a truly unique, almost elfish appearance. While Devons are typically a lively and mischievous breed, their essentially fuss-free coat and pleasant nature well-befits them for life in a variety of home environments. Being very people-oriented cats, Devons all share a tendency to bond especially close with just one, select owner, and can often be found snuggling to this person’s head or face (if given the opportunity). Both intelligent, as well as, playful, these quick-learning felines have been known walk using a leash and harness and even play fetch. Originating in the UK around 1960, members of this breed are often referred to as having a, "pixie," or, "alien,”-like resemblance. Medium in size, the average Devon Rex grows to reach 6-9lbs. once fully mature.
