Pomeranian
Pomeranians are a compact, cobby breed with a double coat appearing in color combinations of black, tan, blue, chocolate, cream, orange, red, brindle, white, and sable. The undercoat is both plush and dense, while the topcoat is coarse. Characteristic of the breed is a highly-set tail, which curves up and over the back and lies flat. Alert and feisty watchdogs with a sharp yip, Pomeranians are both audacious and willful. Loyal, intelligent, and easily trained, Pomeranians are well-suited to live in most any environment- from small apartment to countryside farm- and make an ideal choice of companion for many. A breed of the spitz family, Pomeranians originated in a region once called Pomerania, located in parts of current-day Poland and Germany. Generally a long-lived breed with a lifespan averaging between 12–16 years, Pomeranians grow to reach 7-12” in height and weigh between 3-7lbs. once mature.
