Cymric - The Cymric is a breed of cat most popularly recognized for being a long-haired version of the tailless, Manx cat breed. This breed’s thick, double coat, characteristically grows a denser undercoat than outer, and can is seen in most any color or pattern-type. A broad skull adorned by round cheeks, small ears, and a short muzzle, are also typical of the Cymric breed. As a breed, these cats display rather intelligent, outgoing personalities with a high level of confidence and a calm attitude. These cats make doting and playful pets. The Cymric is Welsh, and can be pronounced as, “Kim-Rick.” Cymrics have occasionally surfaced throughout history in scattered litters of Manx kittens, though the actual development of the breed went, for the most part, neglected until the 1960’s. It was at this point that Canadian breeders began to further develop the roots of this breed’s ancestral foundations.
