Labradoodle - The Labradoodle is a hybrid dog breed first created through the selective breeding between a Standard Poodle and Labrador Retriever by Australian breeder Wally Conron. Coupling desired qualities such as the low-shedding coat of the Poodle and the amicable, easy-to-train keenness of the Labrador Retriever, Conron’s goal was to arrive at a breed of dog ideal for seeing-eye work. Today, the Labradoodle appears in many variations, including the F1, F1-B, F2, and Australian Labradoodle strands. Each first or multi-generation litter is custom-created by a breeder with specific traits in mind, ultimately resulting in offspring exhibiting certain preferred or desired traits of each parenting dog. As a result, the Labradoodle’s coat is seen in an array of colors and type-variations, from soft and wavy, to curly, to straight and wiry. Labradoodles are typically friendly and playful, making great pets in homes with or without children or other types of pets. Living environments containing a medium to large size yard will provide the Labradoodle with ample space to run and exercise. Labradoodles typically grow to reach 21-24” in height at 45-75lbs. once fully mature.
